Josie & Darcel ~ 9 month old spayed females

Josie and Darcel are a bonded pair of sweet female cats who began their journey shy and cautious, and have made beautiful progress in foster care. With time, patience, and gentle love, both girls have shown that they want connection—they just need a calm, understanding home to continue building trust.

Josie is more independent by nature. She’s perfectly happy entertaining herself and often chooses to sleep on her own. That said, she strongly prefers four-legged companionship. If she can’t find her fur buddy, she’ll let out a little cry to call her back. While cat snuggles are her favourite, Josie happily accepts pets from her humans and enjoys quiet affection on her terms.

Darcel has truly blossomed in foster care. She now seeks out her foster for pets and is beginning to enjoy being held for short snuggles—something that once felt impossible. Her progress has been steady and heart-warming, and she continues to show more trust each day.

Both girls can still be startled by sudden movements or loud noises, but they recover quickly and settle back in. A quieter home would likely help them feel safe and confident even faster.

Josie and Darcel do well with other cats and respectful dogs, making them a great fit for a multi-pet household with gentle companions.

These two must be adopted together. Adopting a bonded pair means:

  • Built-in companionship and comfort

  • Reduced stress during transitions

  • More confidence as they adjust to a new home

  • Double the love, without double the work

Thanks to a generous donation, Josie and Darcel’s adoption fee has been reduced to $300 for the pair, making it easier for the right home to give them the peaceful, patient life they deserve.

They may need a little time to trust someone new—but for the right person, the reward will be incredibly special. 💕
